We are looking for a Pharmacometrics Lead who is innovative and agile to join us in our Quantitive Discovery and Development team, based at our research site in either; Slough (UK), Braine (Belgium) or Monheim (Germany).


About the role

Bring experience in the application of pharmacometrics to pediatric drug development, Neurology and Immunology, with the aspiration to lead/manage more junior staff to contribute to the development teams and grow their experience and skills in these areas.


Who you'll work with

Lead a small team in the area of paediatric pharmacometrics, leading and delivering the M&S strategy to support paediatric development of our late phase assets. extrapolation (where appropriate), dose selection, trial design, PIP development and ongoing evaluation of data as generated. You will report directly to the newly appointed Global Head of Pharmacometrics.


Initially leading a small team (2-3) pharmacometricians to support development and delivery of the paediatric development plan from a pharmacometrics perspective beginning at PIP initiation throughout the development and registration phases.


What you'll do

  • Support the development of a team from both a technical and scientific perspective to ensure state of the art techniques are applied to optimize this important phase of development (extrapolation approaches, PBPK-PD, Optimal sampling, Bayesian design, dose and frequency adjustments.
  • Coach and mentor staff on how to navigate within a project and matrix organization
  • Have a working knowledge about the regulatory pathways on a global basis and opportunities for collaboration with health authorities (either through working parties, advice meetings, and other initiatives) in the areas of paediatric development.
  • Work closely with the QCP leads assigned to the various projects to ensure clear integration of the pharmacometrics aspects into the programs
  • Be the go-to-person in terms of external developments in the area of paediatric development, design and methodology approaches, and competitor data
  • Work as a pharmacometrics lead on other projects as assigned.


Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

  • You will hold a Doctorate (PhD or MD) in the related disciplines of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Statistics or Engineering
  • Significant (Bio)pharmaceutical industry experience in Pharmacometrics preferably with line management responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience in population PK/PD, disease progression modeling, and clinical trial simulations.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of Bayesian methodologies, model-based meta-analyses, PBPK, QSP, and AI/ML in Pharmacometrics.
  • Expertise in R, NONMEM or related pharmacometrics software
  • An agile mindset with a proven ability to adjust by prioritizing multiple tasks
  • Outstanding communication, organizational and presentation skills
