What will you be working on?
- You will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects in the field of your expertise.
- You will create state-of-the-art deep-learning models for the AbSuite project (antibody discovery, humanization, and prediction of developability)
- You will work on challenging ML projects for our customers in the life sciences.
- You will share your ML knowledge with colleagues and contribute to the best practices within the company.
- You will collaborate with bioinformaticians and software engineers to ensure that biological domain expertise is incorporated and that models can be made available to our customers.
Who are we looking for?
- You have an MSc or PhD in a quantitative field (e.g. Bioinformatics, Computer Science, ML).
- You have 2+ years of hands-on deep learning experience and know your way around the relevant tools and libraries (tensorflow, sklearn, Jupyter notebooks).
- You are able to select and implement appropriate deep learning architectures (e.g. RNNs, CNNs, GANs) as described in recent scientific literature.
- You have experience validating models with appropriate metrics and statistical techniques .
- You have experience working with big data (millions of observations)
- You are able to tackle challenging problems in a self-reliant manner.
- You flourish in an interdisciplinary team consisting of bioinformaticians and software engineers.
What is expected of you?
- You have basic life sciences knowledge as well as hands-on experience working with biological data, in particular, immunological data.
- You have experience using cloud-based systems (e.g. AWS and Amazon SageMaker).
- You are applying best practices from software engineering to data science projects, both with respect to project management (e.g. Scrum, Jira) and development practices (e.g. clean code, Git branch-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, MLOps).
- You enjoy project-based working and have a strong analytical mindset
- You are eager to learn and have a healthy sense of responsibility
- You can work independently but are also a team player
- You enjoy working in a multidisciplinary environment with people of diverse professional background (IT, (molecular) biology, chemistry, statistics, etc.)
- You are communicative and costumer focused
- You are fluent written and verbally in Dutch and English
