Senior Supplier Development Specialist (M/F/D)

 

Job Summary

Avantor is looking for a Senior Supplier Development Specialist to join our team! This role will provide key analytics into current supplier performance and cost, and identify opportunities to improve overall performance into Avantor’s distribution network, reducing the cost of doing business with suppliers. This role is responsible for daily management of supplier issue resolution as concerns are reported through audits. You willl collaborate with suppliers and internal partners (Distribution Operations, Transportation, Portfolio, Strategic Sourcing, Customer Service, Regulatory, and Master Data) to resolve issues. By your actions you will help reduce delays in receiving, improve efficiencies of the Distribution Centers, and improve the overall customer experience.

This role can be based in Belgium or Germany.

What we are looking for

  Education: BS degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations or Business Finance
• Experience: 5-8 years of applicable work experience, 5-8 Years of SCM/ operations experience
• Certification: APICS/CPIM certification desirable
• You have strong knowledge and practical use of Forecasting and Inventory Planning tools, Operations and Logistics
• You have experience with Project Leadership, formal problem-solving training desirable, i.e., Avantor Business Systems or Six Sigma, Lean
• IT: Proficient in MS office suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of SAP, Qlikview and/or PowerBI is advantageous.

• Provide monthly analysis of Supplier Performance Opportunities to be addressed by Supplier Operations Directors with lower performing suppliers.
• Identify opportunities and drive improvements in supply chain performance for suppliers through projects.
• Review I-Auditor Audits and follow-up with suppliers on any corrective actions necessary to improve shipment quality in the distribution network. Provide timely feedback to DC on progress with suppliers.
• Deliver continuous process improvements through review of Supplier Scorecards with mid-tier suppliers, where opportunities exist adversely affecting the DC network.
• Work with assigned suppliers to identify and improve packaging to reduced damages. Have suppliers complete ISTA package testing and certification.
• Handle issue resolution related to supplier performance reported by DC’s
• Provide monthly tracking of all supplier issues, progress and actions/resolutions taken by suppliers.
• Onboard new suppliers to an eCommerce connection through implementation of either Standard EDI or Avantor’s Web Portal
• Support new product introductions by providing supply chain expertise to Portfolio and Strategic Sourcing
• Work with Suppliers, Portfolio, Strategic Sourcing and Master Data to correct master data issues leading to inefficiencies in the procure-to-pay processes.
